Needs and Skill Building In the Sims 2 base game the best thing to do is to keep their need full. The higher their needs are the more willing they are to do various things like study, workout, etc… If one or more of their needs are below half full they will most likely refuse any action that involves skill building of any kind.
Need Failure Need failure of any kind can be a funny, embarrassing, or even fatal thing. If three or more of your sim’s needs hit 0 then the sim will die. Here’s a table showing what happens when each need hits 0.
Hunger Death, it’s as simple as that.
Energy Your sim will pass out every few seconds until you make them go to bed.
Comfort Your sim will get angry and will most likely refuse to do any action that doesn’t replenish comfort.
Fun Your sim will get angry and might not do much of anything until the need is at least filled up halfway.
Social Your sim will be depressed and will sometimes stop what they’re doing to cry. The lower the need the more often this will happen.
Environment/Room Your sim will get angry or show displeasure and will complain often until the need rises.
Bladder Your sim will try to make a dash to the nearest bathroom, but if they can’t make it soon enough, they’ll have anaccident which will lower their hygiene need and embarrass them.
Hygiene Your sim will have a green stink cloud rising from their body. They’ll frequently stop to smell themselves and say ‘phew’ and then will start trying to take a shower/bath. They’ll even stop doing some other important task in order to raise the need.
