What of the Da Vinci Code then? I've read the book but haven't seen the movie, and I'm wondering if I should.

I haven't read the book, but I've seen the movie, so I don't know if someone who has read the book will like the movie (because, you know, the movie versions mostly suck horribly compared to the book). I can say that I liked the movie a lot though, so I'd recommend it anyway.

Saw the movie. It rocked.

Well, true, he is full of win, but Dennis is the martian child from the book/movie Martian Child which is one of my FAVORITE MOVIES of ALL TIME! *fangirl squee* It's also the source of the "Flomar" reference, because the guy he gets adopted by has a dog named Somewhere, except he renames it Flomar.

I dont really know if it counts as controversal.

Ehhh...it's controversial in the premise: a single widower adopting a child who thinks he's from mars. In the book the guy is actually gay.

AWWW, why didnt they leave that in?

Idk...it didn't really come into play much during the book, and I guess the moviemakers thought that it would be more appropiate (for kids) and more emotional to make the guy a widower. I think it works fine either way. They also change Harley from a made up computer character (the guy talks to himself using HARLEY on microsoft word) into an actual real-live friend, which I think was a total improvement.
