Competition, Redone

OK. Last time this happened, we only had two entrants, so this time let's try to get a real competition going.

Ok everyone, this contest is open to any willing to participate.

The rules are simple.
1) Keep it PG13.
2) Nothing of extensive length, please. (Look in my work, nothing longer than The Child’s Legend)
3) Only one entry per person. And please make it something a majority of us haven’t read.
4) Anything submitted after the deadline will not be accepted as an entry.

Please judge as you please. If you find a work exceptional, please post which poem and what you liked about it.

The deadline is three weeks from today, Wednesday, the 11th of November. And the voting will continue for two weeks after that date.

Good luck to all our contestants. And may the best Poet win!

Oh, and the Poll option can only hold 10 options, so it would be greatly appreciated if (should there be more than 10 entries) this thread remain empty except for the entries until after the deadline. Could I get the other admins to help me with this (since I don’t get on as often as you)?

OK Here's my entry...

Tears
To choose the one
And lose the other...
To lose the one
And choose the other...
I've made my choice,
But her I now lose...
I've lossed my voice
This is what I choose.

My choice was made
I lose the chosen.
Heart does not fade
But mind now frozen.
No longer caught
Tears have come and gone.
Now I fall not
My life has found dawn.

Masks
Wake up in the morning and put on your face,
Hide all that ails you, leave not a trace.
They'll never know it, you don't let them see,
slather your duldrums with cream-colored glee.
You don't let them in, you don't want them to know,
you work your mask hard to make sure it won't show.
'They won't understand' you keep telling yourself,
while you're hording your heart and your head on your shelf.
"They'll treat me all different', you're caught up on that hitch,
An outcast of outcasts, oh, isn't that rich?
So you play the charade, keep up the facade,
who will it hurt if you keep acting odd?
Well, keep it up buddy, if you think you can deal,
After all, who on Earth can claim that they're real?

Darkness

Sitting alone
in the nothingnss of my life
watching everyone around me
in their joy filled worlds
my world however is dark
Black and grey
with no light wanting to come through.
There I am sitting
Sitting on my bed thinking
about all the things that could've been.
thinking about all the positive things that have came and left from my life
Things that have left me in the dark
Trying and trying to find the light
but having no help
I've given up
im stuck in this place that i call my DARKNESS

you left me here alone to dwell on lost love and hopeless life.
you left me to be a greater being.
you said its for me to become strong.
but in all actuallity it was because you didnt want to have to see me break like shattered glass.
but i wont break ill rise.
and you will wish that you were a part of this risingof the moon.
and when you come i will say i gave you the other half of the moon so that you will never forget me.

( sorry its sorta last min.)

FRIENDSHIPS

Friendships come friendships go
Some will linger on and on
Others will vanish and you wont know
Sometimes endings are painful and messy
Sometimes its better to stop at a dead halt
Sometimes you'll realize it was all a mistake
But don't think friendshiips can be restored
It takes time and effort and strength to endure
If you both dont want to go on then dont expect much
Sometimes you just run out of luck
When you make a dumb move when you think you're done
Don't be too quick don't jump the gun
Don't tell someone you can't be there friend
You'll regret it one day trust me its true
I made these mistakes once and i cant go back
I cant tell them i didn't mean it
And make everything right again
So don't do like i did dont push away your friends.


Sorry it's late and sorry the poem sucks it was a last minute one inspired by current events.

can they? i would have entered that into the poll, but you can only vote once, so i just did my vote.

Oh, quite ashame, I was not able to enter a poem, oh well. None of them seem to tickle my fancy, but I suppose I'll vote on the one I think that was presented and written the most vibrantly.

it was hard to choose between hempyand magician infinity but becuse i felt sorry magican infinity had no votes i voted for him. hempy nice work!!!
