A major problem in many major MMORPG's...pures.

So we shouldn't allow them. Just that simple.

For those who don't know, a pure is a player who only focuses on training certain areas of their character, generally one or two combat skills. A skill pure is less common, but they generally focus on making money. To me, a pure is a way of bending the game to their will, and I hate that. They are also quite arrogant in general, believing that just because they are a lower level and can rarely hit like a higher lvl, that makes them a better, more "clever", player.

So no matter what our players will say, and how they will act about it, we simply shouldn't allow pures in our game.

Now then, anyone perhaps have any ideas for how this could be done?

Perhaps by only letting them level up one skill so far before they HAVE to level up the others to get any further?

hmm..... what about the games in which you can not level up until you finish a quest, and then you only get a specific amount which will get you through to your next level. although that means that you have to play a game in a specific order....although, like other games, what a person chooses to say or how to act, can change what their quest could be.

That's what I thought as well when I made the thread.

As for a quest to start a skill, then we should simply not have any of those then.
