can this also be for help with things not on the forum?
cuz I have a trouble and I need ya'all to shoot it for me. I would, but i'm to squeamish to do it myself. hehe

anyway my question is this:

no, seriously, you know how i said that my brother fixed it? well it broke the next morning and he fixed it again, but it broke the morning after that.

he has no clue what is going on.

MSN and WOW and the internet connection works, but the internet browsers do not. also....it can't be only the browser, because it works just fine on the two computers upstairs.

so what do ya think the problem is?

nope, he knows all right...I was not talking about my twin, but my older brother, who is a computer genius.

Problem solved anyway. we just put the computer away (for now) and now one of the computers upstairs (my cousin's) is down here.

which is why i am able to post right now, after my long absence.

Sorry, i dont know much about computers, besides how to work the internet and such.......How does this make all of you feel, knowing im a GEEK member?

It matters not what your good at to be a member of G.E.E.K.
In fact, Ally, Niki, and Miki know (that I know of) little about computers when compared with Eve and I. They are better at gathering and using knowledge, drawing, or writing.
That's why we created the Tris at the inception of G.E.E.K. Although the acronym says we're about tech (speaking of which, I really think we need to change that), we wanted to be fair to other forms of "geekiness." Therefore the Tris. Red is Gathering and use of knowledge. Blue is artistic skills such as drawing and writing. Black is technology.
When it comes to the Council, we try to balance the Tris with one usually in dominance (three Tris, 7 Council members, you do the math).

I think that the Order, myself included, did a great job in designing this organisation. Sorry, don't mean to brag.

that problem's been long gone, look at the date.

routinely check the date of posts, so you don't unbury dead ones.

I know you posted this around a year ago, but if you have a router, maybe there was an infinite loop. Maybe your IP address was messed it, it sounds more like a network problem to me. There could be a problem in the wiring, but I doubt that. It is more than likely a problem with the router, or your something about the internet provider. If the computer is crashing then it could be a problem with the drive, the power supply, any number of things.

thanks, but like i said, we just moved the computer. now and days if we have that problem, it'll probably be due lack of internet and the fact that my brother linked us all to his computer (we are now a network :O). we have 2 laptops and 3 computers, plus a videophone that uses internet, so if we were to use all of those things at once, the internetz would be drained.
