| I'm not real sure if anyone has noticed this, but a lot of my work seems to go beyond the average written word. I try to blend the emotions I feel at writing into the work as much as possible. So, when reading anything of mine, if you feel sorrow, joy, or any other emotion, you aren't screwed up, it just means I accomplished my task. Only two art forms dealing with words can effect peoples emotions with any skill, poetry and music. As I can't play an instrument or sing worth a crap, that eliminates one of the choices. So I write. Even now, when an emotion has died off near completely (as has the memory of the event that caused it), if I reread one of my works that was completed at the time, everything comes back to me. It's an interesting ability, but it does have its uses. I can bend peoples emotions with a few patterned lines and good word choices. Definitely not an easy task. | |

| Ok. Fine, I don't bend it, I create it. Just like I can create worlds and characters off the top of my head. | |

| Well, here is my next work. And before anyone asks, no it does not mean anything. I was just channeling some of my problems. Don't call the men in white coats yet!
Sorrow Mine
The shattered soul, a fragile thing. It weeps its bloody tears. And its heart does not sing. For it has realized its fears. Thus, sorrow is mine.
The broken heart, a poorly thing. It cries out to be whole. And wishes for to sing. Yet it has turned to burnt coal. Thus, sorrow is mine.
The fractured mind, asunder torn. It seeks the unity That once it held, in lore, And its long lost purity. Thus, sorrow is mine.
The torn body, pooling blood. It wishes for the life That thrived before the flood. Yet in its chest gleams a knife. Thus, sorrow is mine.
My soul, body, mind, and heart, Never to be complete. Yet they throw down their art In hope for loves burning heat. Thus, sorrow is mine.

| Two more here.
The Poet's True Gift
Can you weave emotions in words? Can you go beyond what's written? That is a poet's true gift. Can you show your soul in verse? Can you make others feel as you? That is a poet's true gift. Can you bring fear to readers' heats? Can you make someone feel sorrow? That is a poet's true gift. I have comitted these acts and more. I have shown all of my mastery Of this, the Poet's True Gift...
Apologies
My days of sorrow Hold me no longer. I have a strong will That has not broken. My heart may have wept, But I have survived. My soul is tortured, True, but it is whole. My anger has grown As my pain once did. I am now stronger Than ever before. My days of bright light Have been blackened out, Replaced by shadow, But my skills remain. I weave sorrow now, Not the joy I knew. I show my black soul In what I now write. Perhaps my bright light May return someday, But for now I live In what is my mind. I have become dark, I weave what I am. I apologize To those who don't like What my soul now writes, I just cannot see light In the common things Like I once had done. Bear with me through this, This is all I ask. And I now thank you, All my great readers, For standing with me.

| I'm now busy with a job as well as working around my lack of internet access, so my new poems will be spaced even further apart. If you're one of my "fans" I will try to keep up the level of skill I've shown thus far, but I won't be able to keep up the pace. I apologize for this. I currently don't have any new work, but I'll try to come up with something soon. | |

| Here is my next masterpiece, enjoy.
Lonely Shadow
Time stands still for those who wait (My blood’s thirst yet to sate). Time passes on yet again (My heart breaks again).
I wish for love that won’t come (But has passed on to some), I pray for peace from within (That I won’t see again).
And even the sun grows dark (Oh, how the hounds do bark) In this time of endless pain (And my life’s left in shame).
If only, and if only (I weren’t so damn lonely) The world would give me true love (If only from above).
So I sit and wish and wait (Peering at Hell’s dark gate) For the one I sense will come (From whom my peace will come).

| I know it's not mine, but it's inspired me more than any other poem ever written. So I post it here so that, perhaps, you may be inspired as well.
Alone by Edgar Allan Poe
From childhood's hour I have not been As others were; I have not seen As others saw; I could not bring My passions from a common spring. From the same source I have not taken My sorrow; I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone; And all I loved, I loved alone. Then- in my childhood, in the dawn Of a most stormy life- was drawn From every depth of good and ill The mystery which binds me still: From the torrent, or the fountain, From the red cliff of the mountain, From the sun that round me rolled In its autumn tint of gold, From the lightning in the sky As it passed me flying by, From the thunder and the storm, And the cloud that took the form (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view.
And, if ever I have time at one of our gatherings (and enough people demand it of me) I may read it. I can give it a truly unique twist...

| Good Idea, Allie. Let's bring this up at the next gathering. Rather than just being judged on reading the work, let's judge on the work itself as well. I mean, if we hear the same thing four or five times, there should be a penalty or something. | |

| Here is my next piece of art. Enjoy, everyone...
Time
I weave a tale of sorrow I mold a story of rage. Yet all of my tomorrows Are gone in the turn of a page.
My demons remain with me, Within my dark, dark mind trapped. I only want them to see That they aren’t bound by a pact.
I seek to be forgiven For what my old past has done, But what I want given, Away from me it does run.
So, Night to Twilight to Day And back to where it began, My demons are here to stay And I become a lonely man...

| Writing emotions into them is what makes them so. I can write any shade of any emotion except anger. When I wrote Sorrow Mine, I was pissed as Hell, yet all that's there is sorrow.
I write as a release for my emotions that I find hard to show physically. Sorrow, and anger are two of the emotions in that list. Seeing as I can't put one of those in words, I have years upon years of it pent up... It kinda sucks. I've found a few outlets for it though; climbing, video games, running, caffiene, punching holes in walls... that sort of thing...
The only other time I write would be to comemorate an event, or when I'm exceedingly bored and need something to do. The Child's Legend is the result of one of the latter events (and, personally, I think it's one of my best).
Well, I'll keep trying to keep writing up to the standards I've set for myself (the standards that have been demonstrated so far). I'll also keep posting them for your admiration. I'm glad I have a few fans, even though their my friends.

| I've posted some of this on another of my forums and have two or three fans there. A few teachers have read The Child's Legend, and few others have read Sleepless, good reviews all around (but one said the last line of Sleepless was a big downer). I'm also planning on getting a DeviantArt account set up for myself. | |

| Well, my days of work are over, so I've got more time to write now. If only I could find my muse once again...
Now I have a single question for all of you, all of my fans: Why? Why do you like my work? Don't hold back, let your mind, soul, and heart speak freely, and answer me, please.
I thank those of you who choose to answer my question in advance for I know not when I'll be here again. And I even thank those of my fans who choose not to answer, just for reading and enjoying my work, no matter how dark and sorrowful it may be, and for sticking by me through my times of trouble...
Thank you all, my fans, my friends, my family.

| Eh? I do that too! I don't think it's even possible to write poetry (or at least not poetry of any quality whatsoever) without putting your heart and soul into it. And yes, I agree that MI's work is very very good. I've made mention of that on devianart, and I like all the other ones he's posted on here too. | |

| I can't abbreviate all the reasons for liking your work into the english language, it wouldn't do justice to anyone. Sometimes you just like the way something is, or sounds, or feels. As far as I can tell, your poetry has messages, not exactly hidden but let's go with that, inside for others to find. These lessons could be so universal that anyone could use them, or so vague that only your friends will know what to do with them. Either way it's exactly as you intended. | |
